The Law Enforcement Department is a division of the Department of Integration (DOI). It has been appearing in the show since the pilot episode.
This department is responsible for stopping illegal immigration into New York and illegal activities involved with the immigrants.
Lieutenant Francis Grimes, the head of the Law Enforcement Department, is quite enthusiastic at his job since he has utter disdain for any non-humans and those who sympathize with them. For instance, in a trial the judge says that Grimes and his department has a long history of vampire brutality. Grimes even deliberately makes it hard for Mark Lilly and Leonard Powers, who work at the Social Services Department to help the immigrants.
Grimes has a goon squad under his command that help him in his dirty work.
